This hygienic wall cladding installation was tucked within the leafy surroundings of Walton-on-Thames. Hopescourt SEN School has been carefully designed to provide both a nurturing and supportive environment for children with special educational needs.
The school is so much more than just a place of learning; it represents a vital resource for families that offers stability, opportunity, and a setting where every child can thrive.
We are proud to have contributed to a project of such genuine purpose by installing hygienic wall cladding and helping to shape interiors that are as practical as they are considered.
Working across approximately 700 square metres, the Goss team needed to install around 250 sheets of high-performance wall protection systems throughout the school. The scope included crisp white splashbacks within classrooms, alongside robust wall cladding in wet areas, kitchen spaces, WCs, and cleaning rooms.
Finished in a refined white satin, the scheme was created to deliver a calm, cohesive aesthetic while still meeting the rigorous demands of a busy school.
We know that our work must go beyond aesthetic appearance. The new surfaces we install will play a crucial role in the day-to-day functionality of a thriving school. Therefore, the hygienic, easy-to-clean, and highly durable materials we use are ideally suited to areas where cleanliness, safety and longevity are essential.
The seamless finish of the panels helps to minimise maintenance requirements while supporting high standards of hygiene, which is particularly important in spaces used by children with additional needs.
Naturally, all our team members are fully DBS-checked, but this particular aspect of the project was not required, as it was a new build with no children or staff on site.
From the outset, the project was marked by a strong collaboration with all stakeholders, and its meticulous organisation meant that we could ensure all work was carried out smoothly and on time.
The site was consistently well managed by the contractor, with a clear sense of coordination across all trades on site. This allowed our team to carry out the installation efficiently and to the highest standard, contributing to a smooth and positive build experience.
As with many finishing packages, timing was critical. Naturally, our installation phase always comes towards the end of the programme, which brings with it the usual pressure to meet handover deadlines. On this occasion, however, the timeline carried even greater significance.
We needed to help ensure the school was ready to welcome its first pupils at the start of the new term, which added a deeply personal dimension to our work, one that resonated strongly with the team, many of whom are parents themselves.
It was important to us that the completed interiors offered far more than a polished visual finish. We wanted our work to provide a resilient, hygienic, and calming backdrop that supports both staff and pupils in their daily routines.
The clean, light-reflective surfaces enhance the brightness within each space, while the durability of the materials ensures the whole school environment remains welcoming and well-presented for years to come.
At Hopescourt SEN School, every detail has been designed with both care and purpose, and we are proud to have played a part in delivering spaces that will have a positive impact on the children, families, and teachers alike.
