On a sunny Saturday, the Goss Team had the pleasure of visiting the Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent. This was arranged as part of our ongoing support for such an admirable organisation.
The team at the Big Cat Sanctuary had kindly arranged the tour in response for our donations to their charity.
Arriving at 11am, we were warmly welcomed with tea, coffee, and a delightful assortment of pastries. The morning began with an engaging introductory talk about the Sanctuary’s mission and the exciting upcoming projects they have in store.
Tanith Brown, the Fundraising and Engagements Executive, then led us on an exclusive two-hour tour of the expansive facilities. Her wealth of knowledge and passion for the Sanctuary’s work was evident as she introduced us to the diverse species residing there.
The highlight for many was the opportunity to feed chicken drumsticks to some of the big cats—a thrilling experience for those brave enough to participate!
At 1pm, we were treated to a sumptuous lunch, providing a much-needed break and a chance to discuss the morning’s adventures.
The post-lunch itinerary was equally fascinating. We started with a visit to the recently constructed and completed lion house, where the Goss team installed BioClad Hygienic Cladding. Following this, we explored the animal feed stores and veterinary facilities, gaining a deeper understanding of the meticulous care and planning involved in maintaining the health and well-being of the residents.
One of the most heartwarming segments of the tour was learning about the new enclosures being constructed. These spaces are being prepared for five African lions set to be rescued from Ukraine, a testament to the Sanctuary’s ongoing commitment to providing a safe haven for big cats in need.
The day was an eye-opening experience, filled with some interesting educational moments and we really appreciated the dedicated work carried out by the team at the Big Cat Sanctuary.
We look forward to seeing the Sanctuary’s future projects come to fruition and to supporting their vital work.
